If you ever go to Turkey, you should definitely find some time and go visit Ephesus. The ancient city is amazing, it has been conserved so well, that you can even see a footprint carved in limestone at the entrance of a public institution. There are so many buildings which are almost complete, that you can really travel back in time, with a bit of imagination, and see how people were living at that time, with their public squares organized around a garden fountain or a limestone statue.
The ancient road of the city is also very well preserved, as it was built from huge blocks of rock. It is impressive. If I think that our roads get worse with each year which passes, I realize how advanced the antiques were in this respect. Although when I visited it, it was a terrible heat, I’m still happy I did it, because I have unforgettable memories for the whole rest of my life.
