I was recently able to get out of my cell phone contract halfway through and was able to avoid the early termination fee (ETF) by using some tactics that I read about online. My situation was quite interesting actually. I had a cell phone contract with T-Mobile but wanted to switch to another carrier because the T-Mobile signal in my new home was horrible. I tried to contact my cell carrier about this and explain the situation but since T-Mobile service offered in my area and I just happened to be a dead spot they said there was nothing they could do for me.
Despite this I wasn’t willing to give up and I had to find a way get out of my cell phone contract so I began researching for ways online. I was able to find out one key way to get out of my cell phone contract which gives all subscribers an automatic out when their carrier changes contract terms.
To my amazement, three days after I figure this out I received my monthly bill from T-Mobile and it came with a small flier that said as of September 1 they were increasing all overage charges from $0.40 to $0.45 per minute. I quickly saw this was my way out and called T-Mobile and was out of my contract within several minutes. I was given 30 days to find new service and was suppose to call and cancel my service once I had a new line setup. I went ahead and did this and everything worked flawlessly and I was not charged the ETF. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs or wants to get out of a bad cell phone contract.
