I first stumbled into writing for money
by accident. I had learned how to write marketing copy for my nonprofit organization, which was more or less a survival skill. After that folded, I needed to find a way to make a living and the most logical thing I could do was to use my new-found talent. It actually worked pretty well, although I didn’t understand a lot about pricing in those days.

It’s now fifteen-plus years later and I still write. But as time goes on, I write less for clients and much more for my own ventures. Many of these are online and I’ve discovered the joy of making money by just using what starts between my ears, travels to my fingers and out onto my computer’s keyboard. Of course, there was quite a bit of learning involved to understand how to turn my words into something that Internet search traffic would be attracted to. But as I’ve refined that art, the money has followed. It’s so great to finally have a skill that can make me money without having to deal with clients!
