If you have never ridden a bike before the best way to learn how to ride one is through a course that is offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Anywhere within the United States, you can take a Basic Rider Course that is put on by this group. To find out where the course is being offered in your state simply visit the Motorcycle Safety Foundationâ??s website.

If you live in the state of California, you have another option aside form the basic course that the foundation provides. In California, you can take a basic rider course that is put on by the California Motorcyclist Safety Program. What you want to keep in mind is that if you are getting your license in California and you are under the age of 21 you are required by law to take this course. If you pass the test at the end of the course you do not have to take the DMV issued riding test, but if you do not pass the test, you will still have to take the DMV issued test until you pass it.
